Going to the Root: A Somatic Ecosystem Imagery Journey to the Source of Stress, Overwhelm, and Burnout

Abstract:

Most approaches to stress, overwhelm, and burnout treat the symptoms: time management, boundaries, mindset shifts. But what if the root system runs deeper, living in the body’s nervous system, in patterns of disconnection we’ve carried so long we no longer notice them? This experiential workshop blends somatic awareness practices from the Hendricks Institute’s conscious leadership model, HeartMath heart coherence techniques, and immersive nature imagery drawn from Puerto Rico’s wild tropical ecosystems to guide participants beneath the surface of cognitive coping and into the body’s own intelligence. Informed by the presenter’s background in green building architecture and ecological design, the session uses the structure of living ecosystems as both framework and felt experience. Participants will practice a multisensory guided imagery journey with live forest soundscapes and video, identify somatic markers of activation and grounding, and leave with a portable practice for themselves and their clients.
