Resonant Disentanglement - Befriending Opposites as a Path to Heal Inner Conflict

Abstract:

Drawing on Sarah Peyton’s Resonant Healing, and the internal multi-dimentionality of Internal Family Systems, I am inviting you to explore the inner world of conflict. By looking at inner conflict with kindness as a collision of two waves of energy both well intended and stuck in their preferred strategies.

I propose exercises that will help acknowledge and name what is engaging the prefrontal cortex, to send the message “you make sense” to our body and sensations.

Moving from the body, into emotions, down to the energy of needs and intentions, and back in time into preferred or only accessible strategies we will disentangle the knot of conflict.

Identifying multiple layers and aspects of our personalities and by tenderly acknowledging the positive intentions behind them, we can open our arms wider and stretch them further to hold complexities and paradoxes as proposed by Pema Chödrön. We seek resolution, but we […] deserve something better […] the middle way, an open state of mind that can relax with paradox and ambiguity.
