From Chaos to Order: The Ten Laws of Balance in the Western Spiritual Tradition

Learning Objectives

UPON COMPLETION OF THIS WORKSHOP, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Evaluate the moral and philosophical foundations of Western Spiritual Tradition as it relates to modern mental health.
  2. Apply the “Ten Laws of Balance” through specific mental imagery techniques to enhance emotional regulation and self-efficacy.
  3. Demonstrate imagery and cognitive protocols designed for immediate integration into daily practice for stress management.

Abstract:

In a world of chaos, developing a sense of groundedness requires a personal moral tether. This presentation explores how the Western Spiritual Tradition offers a path through the focused use of will and imagination, creating a harmonious balance between thought, emotion, and action. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to honor their own inner pilgrimage using The Ten Laws of Balance.

Through a blend of clinical imagery exercises and behavioral "stopping" interventions, participants will learn to foster empowerment and a renewed connection with self, others, and Spirit. Drawing upon the body of work of Dr. Jerry Epstein—specifically his final work, We Are Not Meant to Die—this session provides practical tools to transform the Ten Commandments from religious dogma into actionable guidelines for psychological and spiritual self-efficacy.
