Jann Fredrickson

Hi fellow Imagery lovers!!

It’s that time again!! The third annual Imagery International Conference co-sponsored by Beyond Ordinary Nursing is happening September 30-October 2, 2011 at Mercy Center in Burlingame, California, USA. We are now calling for proposals for workshops. Our theme this year is: Imagery: Hope and New Beginnings.

If you would like to be one of our presenters, please email the following information to me, Jann Fredrickson – Jann.Ruth7@gmail.com /  JFredr7753@aol.com, by May 6, 2011:

1. All workshops are to be 90 minutes long.

2. Your name, address, and email address.

3. Brief biography ( 25-50 words) including expertise for presenting on your topic.

4. Title of the workshop and how it pertains to our theme.

5. Two objectives stated with one action verb per objective and in measurable behavior or outcome.

For example, say you are giving a workshop to teach folks how to use Emotional Freedom Therapy and Imagery. So your objectives would read:

a. At the end of the workshop, the participant will have a basic knowledge of what EFT is and HOW it can be used in combination with imagery.

b. At the end of the workshop, the participant will understand how effective the modalities of EFT and imagery are when used in conjunction with one another.

6. Course description (25-35 words).

7. Course outline.

8. What your audio/visual (AV) needs will be.

You can call me with any questions: 651-208-6458 during the hours of 12:30pm to about 3:30pm CST most days (this is walk time) or your can email me with questions.

Imagery trades are always popular and this year, it will be no different.  We are even adding an “art” component.  Now before all of you go berserk and say, “Oh, I’m not artistic!!.”……….  Well, gee, you should SEE some of the stuff I produce, er, try to produce.

Remember your Playdough days?  The feel of that doughy stuff and the smell……kind of takes you back a few years, huh?  Well, this year when we do the Imagery Trade you will get a chance to create an actual image via Playdough (or drawing, if you are so inclined) of your inner wisdom figure.  Or, some of you may have learned this being as an “Inner Advisor”.  Best YET: you get to keep your creation!!

Now, come on.  Doesn’t this sound FUN and IMAGINATIVE?? Come join us for this FUN and creative IMAGERY TRADE!!   Jann Fredrickson Ramus

October 24 II Conference Entertainment** Scott Grace

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Scott Grace will present Saturday evening.  He creates original songs with his guitar and voice. He spices up his repetoire with songs created spontaneously based on topics suggested by the audience. His intention in his singing and songwriting is to offer both entertainment and education, upliftment and enlightenment.

Scott Grace

When Scott sings you may be prone to laughing uproariously at yourself or at the human condition. You may also be wiping away tears during the very next song. With a luminous, loving and mischievious twinkle in his eyes, Scott makes personal contact with everyone present and does not hide behind a performance facade. With each song he shares an intimate part of himself. No matter how large the audience, you may feel as if you were alone with Scott in your living room, listening with a fire crackling in the fireplace. The warmth will penetrate your skin and touch your heart.

Hear a song created in the moment.

Testimonials

“A cross between Jimmy Buffet and Oprah!”

“What a presentation! Scott brings such love, joy and laughter through his music. His ability to interact with the audience and instantly compose spontaneous songs created in the moment baffled us. I heard several times, “How did he do that?” If you are fortunate enough to hear Scott or have the opportunity to bring him to your event, you will not be disappointed!”

October 24 II Conference** – Melissa Jones Cantekin

Friday, September 24th, 2010

“The Transcendant Function of Psychotherapy: How to Use Self-Healing Imagery with the Unconscious as a Tool for Creativity, Change, and Transformation” with Melissa Jones-Cantekin, PhD

Melissa Jones-Cantekin, PhD

My presentation was sparked by a synchronistic event that took place in my life. It relates to The Redbook and a therapy client of mine who happened to have the same name as one of Carl Jung’s patients while he was formulating his theory of the inner Feminine and, subsequently, the Transcendent Function. It renewed my interest in Jungian Psychology and the Transcendent Function and the technique Jung developed of Active Imagination, topics I had been working with and gathering case material for some years.

My presentation is the culmination of my own analysis as well as many years of working with the dreams and symbols of others. Death, ,Rebirth and Transformation are not the everyday experience of therapists and clients but they are the potential inherent in the person and the process which make life worth living. There is a humility in moving the ego out of its central position to make way for the larger self; I have been given the great privilege of accompanying others on their path and witnessing the uniqueness and beauty of their souls.

Melissa will be presenting at Imagery International’s Second Conference Co-Sponsored by Beyond Ordinary Nursing – Imagery for the Future: Illuminating Lives

Vallombrosa Center, Menlo Park, California
