Dues Increase Coming October 7, 2013

Dear Colleagues,

Susan Ezra

Susan Ezra

Imagery International has been taking stock.  We, the Board, would like to share with you, our cherished members – current and from years past – what we have accomplished as we look back, and how we intend to grow as we look forward.

First, our history and accomplishments: the International Association for Interactive Imagery(sm) was created out of a desire for Interactive Guided Imagery(sm) practitioners to stay connected after completion of our certification program.  In 2000 our name was changed to Imagery International to encompass all who share a belief in the healing power of Imagery.  In 2007 we were awarded non-profit status as a 501c6 association retroactive to 2005.  In fact, we are still the only worldwide professional Imagery association.  Looking forward:  happily, we have been able to compensate our technical experts.  However, the rate has been marginal at best.

In order for us to retain and attract new talent we have to offer reasonable compensation. We would like also to offer an honorarium to our conference presenters.

II has not raised dues since the very early days, although costs have substantially grown.  In order to become financially sustainable so as to fulfill our mission, the board has unanimously agreed that it is time to make the leap of faith and raise our dues so as to be in step with other professional organizations.  Effective 10/7/2013, annual regular membership dues will be $125, along with a student/senior (age 65 and older) rate of $75.

To adequately cover ImagiNews hard copy printing and mailing costs, the yearly rate will now be $25 for domestic and $35 for international.  These major increases will serve to give us the money flow needed to increase outreach, create more membership benefits and improve much-needed  IT technology systems.

We ask you for your support.   Your dollars are the blood flow for II to carry out our vision, of which YOU are an integral part.  Our board of directors has been, and will continue to be, conscientious stewards of II resources, using our monies wisely to propel our association to the next level of success.

On behalf of the entire board, thank you.

Susan Ezra, President
