From Randy’s Facebook page:

I hope you haven’t received multiple invites to this page, still learning how to navigate. But…if you haven’t visited and liked it yet, what are you waiting for? 🙂  See me on FaceBook

Excerpts from her School of Imagery and Healing FaceBook page

Healing Visualizations – Creating Health Through Imagery by Gerald Epstein, MD – The book that started all this for me! Why imagery? It is effortless hyper-attention. Attention to what? To beliefs. Why? Because by changing the troublesome, false beliefs, we change our lives. How? False beliefs block us from our true selves and our inner wisdom. It allows us to bypass all the habitual stories that we tell ourselves and get to the heart of the matter. All of this can sound pretty heady. Which brings me back to, Why imagery? Simply put, when we see the belief in the form of the image, we can change the image, the belief, our life. And even – dare I say it?- have fun in the process!

“Bit by bit”. Imagery as I use it is most often short exercises. In and out, now go live life! So how can such quick exercises create lasting changes, especially when the shift seems to disappear once the exercise is over? No worries. Equate it with pointillism in art. We make a correction and the mind/ body registers it. Don’t try to hold on to the feeling. Just keep practicing and soon- no one knows when- you will suddenly see that all the seemingly haphazard dots of corrections have created a masterpiece! – with thanks to George Seurat and Stephen Sondheim.

3/13/13. Lot of 3’s! Choosing the name “SIgH” pleased me because an outbreath is the starting point of most imagery exercises. “Breathe out 3 times”. (BO3X to those in the know) Three is used because it brings synthesis, a coming together. And that’s the intention: a bringing back together, a re-membering. 🙂

Blossom Into Spring

Susan Ezra

Susan Ezra

Spring is the season to bring forth seeds of the self that have been gestating during the winter.

Awaken from the dormant, quiet, inner-focused time and step into the light of activity and renewed energy. What do you want to birth, re-birth or create anew?

Imagine a young tree seedling beginning to push through the dark soil into the warmth and light of the sun. This is the Life Force energy of Spring. It is time to cleanse, nourish and support the liver, associated with the element of wood. The animal is the dragon, the color is green and the emotion is turning anger into kindness and forgiveness.

We will use Meditation, Guided Integrative Imagery and Chi Gong for individual and collective benefit. Integrative Imagery is a powerful mind-body practice utilizing the imagination to harness our inner wisdom and resources. Through Chi Gong we learn to cultivate our own vital life force through endearing forms like Blossom into Spring and the Crystal Generator.

Come join us to usher in the Spring and plant the seeds for YOUR new beginnings!

Susan Ezra New President of Imagery International

Sunday, March 10th, 2013

Greetings friends, colleagues and those whom I have not yet met.

Susan Ezra

Susan Ezra

I am happy to say – I am your new president! I will also say – I am not as elegant and graceful as Juliet, our outgoing president (that is a compliment to her and not a detriment to me). However, I will serve with an open mind and dedicated heart, like Juliet has over the previous two years.

Most of you know me, but for those who do not, I will give a little background. I have been deeply involved in promoting Imagery as a healing modality since 1989.

I was in the very first Academy for Guided Imagery training with David Bresler, PhD and Marty Rossman, MD. I fell in love with the power of this work at my first preceptorship. I have continued ever since. This particular mind/body healing approach fits me like
hand-in-glove. It resonates with my belief that my role is as a guide to catalyze the healing potential in each person. I see myself as a reflective mirror and sojourner.

From the Editor’s Desktop

By Bev Hollander, BSN, MS, HNB-BC

Hello All,

Bev Hollander

Bev Hollander

It has come to my attention that most folks do not read the Letter from the Editor. I realized that this is true for me as well.  When I open a magazine, I rarely read the editor’s comments.  I just read the content.  I think I hall do the same here, unless I hear from any of you who value my column and want to hear my “two cents.”

Enjoy this issue, please.  It was a difficult theme for many.  The theme for the June issue will be “Magic” and contributions are due May 1st, please.  Coincidentally, thias is the theme for our annual October conference.  Read ore in later issues!!!
