IMAGERY TO ASSIST YOU IN HEALING

by Jenny Garrison

Imagine healing moving from the inside out. This is a practice that you can do that will compliment any healing that is “being done” by medical practitioners. This is healing that you can do daily or many times in one day. You can move into the imagery of healing when you are resting, when you are falling asleep, or when you are lying in bed trying to fall asleep. You can make a special time for this inner work, or just tap into it when you want to. You can be free with it… it is yours: in you and for you. It connects you with the great healing energy of Love.

Begin by quieting your mind. Feel Earth and your body. See yourself in your body on the Earth, and make the connection to Earth in a way that acknowledges the life giving source of nourishment for your body, which comes from the Earth. Become aware of your breathing. Acknowledge air, connecting you with heaven, nourishing your body’s cells with oxygen.

Imagine now the colors of the rainbow… red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Allow yourself to find the hue of each color that feels “just right”… this is intuitive. Trust your intuition. Settle your loving attention in the region of your heart… a little below and behind your physical heart. (more…)

Making Changes

Hi Everyone,

Martin Rossman, MD

Martin Rossman, MD

Well, we survived the “end of the world” once again – congratulations and let’s make the most of the extra time!

If you haven’t already set health goals for 2013, it’s not too late, and if there are changes you want to make, but have had trouble making your resolutions “stick” in the past, I have a process to teach you that will help you turn your good intentions into your daily reality.  “Turning Insight Into Action” is such a powerful and important process that I’ve taught it in all three of my popular books. If you tend to set goals of any type but have trouble reaching them, this process will be very helpful for you.

Come join me, and bring friends or family, on January 24th for a brief presentation and a personal opportunity to learn this important game-changer. Come with pen, paper, tablet, computer or whatever you like to write with, and a clear idea of the health goals you’d like to achieve in 2013. You’ll leave with a written plan for making them real, and for dealing with any barriers that might get in your way.  Hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Marty Rossman, MD

The Laws of Physics Can’t Trump the Bonds of Love
By TARA PARKER-POPE on Living Well

Jeffrey Wright is well known around his high school in Louisville, Ky., for his antics as a physics teacher, which include exploding pumpkins, hovercraft and a scary experiment that involves a bed of nails, a cinder block and a sledgehammer.

But it is a simple lecture — one without props or fireballs — that leaves the greatest impression on his students each year. The talk is about Mr. Wright’s son and the meaning of life, love and family.

It has become an annual event at Louisville Male Traditional High School (now coed, despite its name), and it has been captured in a short documentary, “Wright’s Law,” which recently won a gold medal in multimedia in the national College Photographer of the Year competition, run by the University of Missouri.

The filmmaker, Zack Conkle, 22, a photojournalism graduate of Western Kentucky University and a former student of Mr. Wright’s, said he made the film because he would get frustrated trying to describe Mr. Wright’s teaching style. “I wanted to show people this guy is crazy and really amazing,” Mr. Conkle said in an interview.

The beginning of the film shows Mr. Wright, now 45, at his wackiest. A veteran of 23 years teaching, he does odd experiments involving air pressure and fiery chemicals — and one in which he lies on a bed of nails with a cinder block on his chest. A student takes a sledgehammer and swings, shattering the block and teaching a physics lesson about force and energy.

But each year, Mr. Wright gives a lecture on his experiences as a parent of a child with special needs. His son, Adam, now 12, has a rare disorder called Joubert syndrome, in which the part of the brain related to balance and movement fails to develop properly. Visually impaired and unable to control his movements, Adam breathes rapidly and doesn’t speak.

Video: Kind Eyes – We are designed to Connect
Posted on December 21, 2011 by Authentic Presence in News

SATe – Somatic Attachment Training & Experience

“Beam a Gleam!”
A “gleam” or “Gleaming” is the word that describes the special look we send when we greet someone special to us! Imagine showing up at a friend’s house unexpectedly and they open the door and immediately show an authentic delight to see you there. That is a “Gleam Beam”! See the effect it can have by sending a “Gleam Beam” to your partner or child or even your pet across a crowed room  – at a party or schoolyard or anywhere! It is free and very effective to keep your innate secure attachment bond growing and strong!

Attachment Gaze is a critical way we feed and enhance our bond with those close to us. When you catch a beam Gleam from someone you love that tells you you are special to them and that that special look is just for you it opens our heart and gives us gourmet contact nutrition. Simply put, We feel loved and deeply connected. This happens in an ideal world. For some of us  – we looked out into the world as babies into the eyes of parents or caregivers that appeared lifeless, empty without presence, –  or even worse, hostile. This can shift our natural capacity and desire for eye contact away from others and we may grow up not even being aware that we avoid “I” (eye) contact because our original attempts were not met and became repeatedly painful. We learn to know ourselves in the reflection and eye contact of those closest to us. Without it we often disconnect and feel unknown to ourselves and with others which can be very isolating.
